Shiva Gopal, MDPresident and Founder Eastern Neurodiagnostic Associates, Est.1992 Dr. Shiva Gopal completed his undergraduate Medical Education and Residency in Internal Medicine at the Government Medical College, Nagpur, India in 1984 and proceeded to his Neurology Residency at the Boston University Affiliated Hospitals in Boston, Massachusetts from 1984-1987. He then subspecialized further in Clinical Neurophysiology and Electrodiagnostic Medicine at the TUFTS University Medical Center from 1987 to 1989, with emphasis on complex EMG studies as well as Cortical Brain Mapping. After obtaining his Board Certification in Neurology and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, he came to the Cherry Hill, New Jersey area and started his private practice of Neurology and Electrodiagnostic Medicine. He went on to acquire other highly trained associates and developed a broad-based practice to include not only Neurology and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, but also Headache and Pain Management, Traumatic Brain injury and Cognitive Remediation Therapy. Close coordination of these Clinical fields has been satisfying as it assures superior patient care and outcomes. Dr Gopal and his wife have a daughter currently doing her Chief Residency at University of California at Los Angeles and a second daughter practicing Physical Therapy in Washington DC. His hobbies include reading, traveling, tennis and classical music.

Matthew McClure, MDDr. Matthew McClure is Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation specialist that joined Eastern Neurodiagnostic Associates in 2018. Dr. McClure graduated from Williams College and went onto Medical School at the University of Pittsburgh. Before joining Eastern, Dr. McClure spent the previous six years at the University of Pennsylvania Health System. He was named chief resident of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in 2016, and after graduating, stayed on as a faculty member for two years. Dr. McClure's clinical interests are electrodiagnostic and musculoskeletal medicine. He is board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, as well as the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine. In addition to his time at Eastern, Dr. McClure works at South Jersey Physician Associates. Outside of work, Dr. McClure enjoys spending time with his family, along with playing both golf and squash.

Alan Kwon, MDDr. Alan Kwon is an anesthesiologist/pain management physician with expertise in the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic pain disorders and joined Eastern Neurodiagnostic Associates in 2015. Dr. Kwon treats problems such as RSD/CRPS, peripheral nerve entrapment syndromes that produce unusual upper and lower extremity pain symptoms, and neuraxial pain are often vexing for patients and treating physicians. Using the latest technologies such as spinal cord stimulation and ultrasound guided peripheral nerve blockade, Dr. Kwon can advance the understanding of the nature of persistent pain complaints and, in many cases, ameliorate the problem. Dr. Kwon completed medical school at the university of California at San Francisco followed by an internship in Family Medicine at UCSF/SF General Hospital. An anesthesia residency followed at Martin Luther King/Drew Medical Center in Los Angeles as an extension of UCLA where, besides completing training in Neuro and Cardiothoracic anesthesia, Dr. Kwon completed advanced training in acute and chronic pain disorders earning him a Jansen Pharmaceutical Recognition Award. Dr. Kwon is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pain Medicine, a Diplomat of the American Academy of Pain Management, and past Director at Large for the American Society of Interventional Pain Physician (ASIPP) and holds a special certificate for the administration of Suboxone for the treatment of opiate Addiction.

William Wolfe, MDDr. Wolfe graduated from LeBow College of Business at Drexel University with a degree in Business Administration (summa cum laude and valedictorian). He earned his medical degree from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. Dr. Wolfe completed his medical internship at Lankenau Hospital, his Neurology residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital (Chief Resident) and a clinical neurophysiology fellowship also at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He is board certified in Neurology-American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Clinical Neurophysiology-American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology (EEG, Evoked Potentials, and Polysomnography), Electrodiagnostic Medicine-American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and Sleep Medicine-American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is also a fellow of the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine. Dr. Wolfe is an active member of the American Academy of Neurology, American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. He has practiced neurology in South Jersey for over 20 years. His clinical interests include headache disorders, traumatic brain injury, pain, sleep disorders, stroke, epilepsy, and neuromuscular disease. He has also worked as a neurohospitalist and has served as a primary investigator in several phase 3 clinical trials. He currently resides in South Jersey with his family.

Taylor Jones, PA-CTaylor Jones is a certified Physician Assistant who joined the team at Eastern Neurodiagnostic Associates in 2021. Taylor is focused on myofascial pain treatment and complex headache disorders and works with all of the Physicians in the practice. Taylor graduated from Salus University in 2018 with her master's degree in physician assistant studies. After graduation, Taylor went onto work in an Urgent Care setting for 3 years before joining Eastern full-time. She is a current member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and also the New Jersey State society of Physician Assistants. Taylor currently resides in South Jersey with her family. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time in the mountains, traveling to new places, reading, and watching her favorite TV shows.

Marissa Smargiassi, PA-CMarissa Smargiassi is a certified Physician Assistant that has been with Eastern Neurodiagnostic Associates since 2016. Marissa works with all the physician specialties in the group, but her main focus is interventional pain management. She also performs some of the myofascial treatment. Marissa graduated from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in July 2004 with her Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies. She then worked for almost 12 years at an interventional pain management practice in Atlantic County before coming to Eastern. She is a current member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the New Jersey State Society of Physician Assistants. Marissa lives in Marlton, NJ with her husband and three children. In her spare time, she loves to travel, read, watch her children play sports, and spend time with friends and family.

Rachael Felsenfeld, Psy.D.Dr. Rachael Felsenfeld is a licensed psychologist in the states of New Jersey and New York. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Ithaca College in addition to a Master of Arts and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Illinois School of Professional Psychology/ Chicago Campus. Her training specialized in severe psychopathology and she completed an APA accredited predoctoral internship at San Bernardino Department of Behavioral Health with clinical rotations in forensic and mental health detention, clinical and diagnostic outpatient treatment, inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, and day program treatment. Dr. Felsenfeld went on to train as a postdoctoral intern at New York State Office of Mental Health and pursued advanced postdoctoral training as a licensed psychologist and neuropsychology fellow at a neurosurgery private practice, Neurological Surgery, P.C.. With almost twenty years of experience, Dr. Felsenfeld functions as a diagnostician and a clinician. Her experience includes providing neuropsychological and psychological evaluation to individuals with a wide range of cognitive, neurological, and psychiatric conditions across varied clinical settings, including private practices specialized in neuropsychology, psychology and forensic work in addition to community mental health outpatient treatment clinics. Dr. Felsenfeld joined Eastern Neurodiagnostic Associates in 2020 and participated in the development of their Head Injury Center. As a psychologist who specializes in neuropsychology and forensic diagnostics, Dr. Felsenfeld conducts neuropsychological evaluation of individuals with traumatic brain injury and collaborates with specialists in neurology, pain management, cognitive remediation, and psychology for comprehensive evaluation and care. Dr. Felsenfeld enjoys spending time with her family, walking her dog Kayla, running and biking.

Mary-Margaret Epifano, SLPMary-Margaret (Molly) Epifano is the provider of skilled speech-language pathology services at Eastern Neurodiagnostic associates. Molly earned a certificate of clinician competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and license to provide speech-language pathology services in the state of NJ. Molly’s undergraduate studies were completed at the University of Maryland College Park. While there, she participated as a student intern at the Aphasia Research Center and graduated with a major in Hearing and Speech Sciences and a minor in Linguistics. She went on to further her education and graduated from Radford University with an M.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders, with a concentration in Speech-Language Pathology. Most recently, Molly obtained her certificate as a Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS). After receiving her degree, Molly began working in the skilled nursing facility setting treating adults for speech, language, cognition, and swallowing difficulties. During that time, she also gained a position as an adjunct instructor as Stockton University teaching a course to undergraduate students. Molly has been an employee at Eastern Neurodiagnostic Associates since 2013. She participated in the development of the speech therapy program that is currently offered at Eastern. The majority of patients that Molly provides treatment to in this program have experienced cognitive and communication difficulties following a head injury. More specifically, they may struggle with word finding, expressive themselves clearly, understanding comments from others, successfully completing tasks that require attention and memory, as well as other areas that can be impacted as the result of a head injury. The treatment aims to address areas of difficulties by using activities to enhance skill performance as well as by recommendations and practice of using compensatory strategies to help the patients improve their day-to-day function. When she isn’t working Molly spends time with her family. She enjoys taking trips to the beach, mountains, and exploring new places. Also, she enjoys reading, practicing yoga, and spending time outside.

Cynthia Boyer, Ph.D.Dr. Boyer earned a BA in psychology from the University of Pennsylvania and a MA and Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Delaware. She is a clinical psychologist with more than 30 years’ experience in neurorehabilitation. Her professional career has focused on the neuropsychological evaluation, psychological treatment, and cognitive rehabilitation of individuals with acquired and degenerative brain injuries. She has provided clinical neuropsychological services in a variety of settings, ranging from the trauma center to long term post-acute programs. She previously served as Executive Director of Brain Injury Services and Vice President of Quality for Bancroft. Dr. Boyer is licensed in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Boyer holds adjunct faculty positions at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and Rowan University. While at Bancroft, she expanded the neuropsychology training program and supervised practicum students, interns and post-doctoral fellows in neuropsychology. She is a trainer for the Academy of Certified Brain Injury Specialists (ACBIS) and serves on the board of the New Jersey Brain Injury Alliance. Dr. Boyer is medical rehabilitation surveyor for the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), providing consultation to rehabilitation programs nationally and internationally

Jackie Rendfrey, SLPJackie Rendfrey is a skilled speech-language pathology service provider at Eastern Neurodiagnostic Associates. Jackie earned a certificate of clinician competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) in 2011 and maintains a license to provide speech-language pathology services in the state of NJ. Jackie’s undergraduate studies were completed at Stockton University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology. She went on to further her education and graduated from Nova Southeastern University with an M.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders, with a concentration in Speech-Language Pathology. During her graduate studies, Jackie completed three clinical practicums at Mary’s Place pediatric rehab, Medford-Lakes School District, and the Hammonton Center for Rehab and Healthcare. Most recently, Jackie obtained her certificate as a Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS). After receiving her degree, Jackie began working in the sub-acute rehab setting treating adults for speech, language, cognition, and swallowing difficulties. While Jackie has been providing speech-language pathology services to Eastern Neurodiagnostic Associates since 2017. Most patients that Jackie provides treatment to in cognitive rehabilitation program have experienced cognitive and/or communication difficulties following a head injury. More specifically, they may struggle with word finding, expressive themselves clearly, understanding comments from others, successfully completing tasks that require attention and memory, as well as other areas that can be impacted as the result of a head injury. The treatment aims to address areas of difficulties by using activities to enhance skill performance as well as by providing recommendations and training for the use of compensatory strategies to help the patients improve their day-to-day function. When she is not working, Jackie spends time with her family. Together they enjoy taking trips to the beach or boardwalk, visiting museums, and golfing. Other interests include exercising, baking, traveling, and spending time friends.

Elizabeth O'Brien, PA-CElizabeth O'Brien is a certified Physician Assistant who joined the team at Eastern Neurodiagnostic Associates in 2022. Elizabeth works alongside all of the physicians in the practice and sees both Neurology and Pain Management patients. She received her Physician Assistant certificate in 1995 at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, then continued her education at Pace University receiving her master's degree. Elizabeth has 30 years of medical experience in the field of Personal Injury and Worker's Compensation. She is a current member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and also the New Jersey State society of Physician Assistants. Elizabeth lives in Ambler, Pennsylvania. She enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, living at the jersey shore in the summer, and is an avid fan and long-time season ticket holder of the Philadelphia Eagles.
